The following are open positions on the Region Two Staff
Vice Chief, CompOps and Assistant Webmaster
Region Two needs a good, reliable backup in case the Region Two Chief of Computer Operations gets hit by a bus or something. This officer would answer directly to the CompOps Chief. If you have mad web skillz, please apply.
Summary of qualifications and duties:
- Internet computer management experience
- Web site management and/or building experience
- Good working knowledge of HTML and related technologies, including JavaScript and PHP
- IRC knowledge and experience would be very helpful
- Graphics programs experience
- Ability to handle text editor
- Ability to interface well with end-users, including helping those with limited web/internet experience
- Willingness to respond promptly and graciously to requests large and small, from those that are experienced as well as from those that are not as experienced, for assistance in all matters pertaining to computer operations to meet Region Staff and member needs.
The Region Two website is not a content management system, not FrontPage or Dreamweaver. It is primarily lovingly coded "by hand." Applicants MUST show proficiency and fluency in HTML 4.01. Some knowlege of XHTML 1.0 would be helpful. Most of the heavy lifting is PHP, but the content is simple HTML, nothing too fancy.
